Becoming a Peachy's Puff is becoming a part of a long San Francisco tradition. The job is a combination of between vending (selling candies, smokes, treats, novelties) and acting--playing the part of an authentic cigarette girl. It's one of the few jobs where you can have fun while making money, and while getting to know the San Francisco nightlife scene. If you are a natural performer, if your friends call you the life of the party, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Peachy's Puffs has been in business for over 20 years and has steady accounts all over San Francisco, with over 40 shifts per week.
Whether you are a student, need a part-time job, or are just looking for some extra cash, this is a great secondary source of income. We are always busy.
You must be over 21 or over to be a Puff. Technically, we set you up as an independent distributor. We provide everything you need: the merchandise, transportation, costumes and accessories. Puffs typically make between $10 and $30 per hour on average, though with a little experience and focus, you can make a lot more. You take money home in your pocket after each shift. Generally, expect to make (on average) $70 to $150 for a five-hour shift.
This job requires a fun and carefree attitude, as well as significant sales skills. Your income is directly proportionate to your sales ability. Professionalism and self-confidence are a must! As a cigarette girl, you need to be able to get into character and become animated. Puffs must stay focused and enthusiastic in order be successful. The secret is to have fun while working, to entertain customers and to remain outgoing. It's all about energy! You must conduct yourself in a professional manner, be reliable, and be willing to learn. Above all, the most important trait is dependability. You must show up for your scheduled shifts. We do not tolerate flakiness or excuses; we work every night of the week no matter the weather, and our business can only thrive when our Puffs show up as scheduled. We are reputable, responsible and fun! We take each shift very seriously and expect that you will, as well.
